Welcome to the Family!

By Adam Sikora

Athleticademy is focused on helping families: kids AND parents! We want to introduce you to our family as we begin to serve others in the Knoxville region.

From Military Service to Child Service

We are both veterans of the U.S. Air Force, which is where we met as weather forecasters in South Carolina. We were married in Johnson City, Tennessee, and finished our military service in Nevada in direct support of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA). Our eldest daughter, Ambryn, was born there -- Viva Las Vegas!

After a family emergency, we voluntarily separated from the service and moved back near family in Tennessee. I taught mathematics at Bristol Tennessee High School for a year while Megan worked on a business degree. We moved briefly to New England near Megan’s family, then had a longer stay in the Washington D.C. region with a government consulting position. Our middle daughter, Aesley, was born in Reston, Virginia. When our youngest daughter, Aubrey Tennessyn, notified us of her arrival, we decided that it was best to move back to Good Ole’ Rocky Top!

I initially started college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and was the president of the Racquetball Club. When 9/11 occurred, I felt the need to serve my country, so I enlisted the very next day. After an honorable career, I wanted to give back to the university with my Post-911 benefits and officially be a Vol Alumnus! I graduated the Professional MBA Program last December and finally figured out my calling thanks to their mentor network!

The concept of Athleticademy is a mix of our sports playing/coaching, career, and parenting experiences into a simple work-school-life balance solution for busy families! We hope that you will come back to learn more about us and the business!
